There is a station in Lovejoy Library, Room 0005 and one in Room 2025 of the Engineering Building. Vandever said the scan is fast and will not damage any of the files a student has saved on the flash drive.

"Even if you think you haven't used an infected port," Vandever said, "you should still bring the flash drive in to be checked … We do not want this virus spreading any further."

Senior mechanical engineering majors Patrick Hogg and John Earnst were informed of the need to get their flash drives checked by staff and administration within the Engineering Building.

"I plan on getting it scanned as soon as I can find time," Hogg said. "I haven't been affected so far, though."

Earnst said he is aware that many of his fellow students have been going through with the precautionary device scan.

"I haven't put mine in a computer, so I think I'm safe," Earnst said. "As long as I keep it in my pocket, it can't get infected, right?"
