With registration beginning next month, students are preparing for the battle for precious class spots by making appointments with advisers.
Registrar Laura Strom said the opening date for online registration begins March 17 and is available for students with 90 or more credit hours and graduate students.
Students with 60 hours or more begin registering on March 24, followed by students with 30 hours or more can register on March 31. All other students can register starting April 7.
Strom said there were no complications with registration last semester and she expects no problems with the approaching registration.
"We have experienced no problems so far. Everything has gone smoothly," Strom said.
Ross McMurray, a freshman construction management major, said he had scheduled an advising appointment and is waiting for finalization.
"There are a lot of people in my major," McMurray said. "I wanted to get in the classes I need first."
Mike Skalisius, a freshman economics and finance major, said he had not scheduled an appointment yet, but planned on doing so this week. He also said advising went well for him last semester.
"My adviser was very helpful, and I got into the classes I needed," Skalisius said.
Strom said students can help make registration easier on themselves by preparing for their appointments.
"Students should make sure they have satisfied their prerequisites and meet with their adviser early so that registration goes as smoothly as possible," Strom said.
